Your Career, We Care”

(The Successful Training, Placement and Career Guidance Cell of the College)

Every student near the end of his final college examinations begins to think and worry about getting a good job commensurate with the qualification he has achieved. Some- times, such an anxiety about placement and career may negatively affect his examination performance, with the resulting lower marks and even failure some time. So the students near the end of their education need at-least some career guidance, introductory training and placement advice and help very much.

Objectives of the Placement cell:-

To reduce the anxiety of students of the college about getting a good job- The anxiety which mostly arises as their final (University ) examination draws nearer and negatively affects their study concentration and self confidence.

The Placement Cell:-

Keeping this student anxiety in mind and feeling the need to reduce it, the college has set up its ‘Training, Placement and Career Guidance Cell’ (for both B.Ed. and M.Ed. students). The success of this cell encouraged it to adopt the slogan “Your Career, We Care” for itself. The cell functions in the following manner:-
  1. Orienting and giving practice to students about how to write applications, how to prepare resume and how to acquire necessary interview skills and techniques.
  2. Developing a placement database on the basis of formal and informal interactions with the alumni (already employed), the authorities and managements of secondary-schools, higher-secondary schools and colleges of education in the vicinity of the college.
  3. Arranging workshops or guest- lectures from experts in placement and career guidance for the students.
  4. Displaying newspaper advertisements / notifications related to available teaching vacancies / teaching career opportunities etc. on a separate notice board in the entrance of the college building.
  5. To arrange mock-interviews for the students near the end of every academic year for their pre-interview preparation and practice.
  6. To arrange campus interviews by inviting and asking the authorities and managements of the educational institutions in the vicinity to participate as selectors in these interviews. The cell also provides the facility to the selectors of teaching-skill demonstrations by the shortlisted candidates.
